My Teaching and Learning Philosphy
Teaching is the process of guiding a group of learners to achieve certain skills, knowledge and character that will help them to solve and deal with future challenges regardless of their abilities and differences.
As a teacher, I plan activities that are meaningful to my students taking into consideration specific skills, knowledge and character that I want the students to acquire and intentionally guiding my students towards achieving them.
Teachers have been given the task of teaching. However, this is not a role that must be assumed exclusively by teachers. Parents, administrators, other community members and other students play a significant role in this process becoming teachers themselves either through modeling or providing supporting structures to student learning. Guiding a group of learners is a task that takes place at every given opportunity. Everyone is a lifelong learner. There is no end to knowledge and skill acquisition or character development. Every moment in our lives is a learning moment and we have the people and the environment around us to learn from.
